How We Deliver Solutions
Clinical Force delivers the CTMS solution as Software as a Service (SaaS). SaaS is a software subscription service, where customers pay annually for software modules and monthly for user access to the solution. The subscription fees include support and software upgrades.
Industry analysts predict that SaaS will make up half of the software license market in the next 5-7 years. SaaS changes the way software is sold and used; no more license paid up front, patched periodically at then upgraded at additional cost. SaaS changes this mode significantly and has the following characteristics:
- Web-based access to and management of software that is sold on a subscription basis
- Software managed from a central data center rather than at the customer’s site
- Software used by multiple users through a Web browser hosted as a separate instance that is configured for each customer
- Centralized product updates.

Fast deployments
A new CMTS is set up within a business day and is ready to start working. Optional customization and configuration need not prevent live operation and the changes that cannot be performed directly by the customer are typically done some months after the live operation begins.
Minimal in-house IT requirements
The Clinical Force SaaS solution requires no internal IT support or infrastructure. The customer provides first line support with a Super User model. Non critical support issues are provided within the customer’s normal business hours.
Includes in the Clinical Force solution is system level administration and support, comprehensive Internet infrastructure and extensive services including advanced monitoring, load balancing, elevated security, and data storage. In other words, our customers need only manage their users, Clinical Force will relieve the customer IT department of many critical, but costly responsibilities.
Anywhere, anytime, secure access to CTMS data
Clinical Force deploys the CTMS through 8 data centers, with 5 located in North America and 3 in the United Kingdom. The Data centers are SAS 70 Type II certified and regularly audited by 3rd parties.
Loss of service support is provided 24 x 7. Support also includes daily or weekly backups. Optionally, SaaS can include customized service level agreements and hot standby systems located at multiple data centers if required by the customer.
Return On Investment: subscription pricing
The CTMS has been proven to reduce workload for the trial management team, especially in areas of monitoring and payments.
The subscription pricing includes all costs for the service, including the software modules, hardware and communication infrastructure, software support and software module upgrades. The model comprises monthly user fees plus annual software module fees. Users can be added or removed monthly by the client depending on the workload - further optimizing software costs.
The combination of reduced IT costs, value based subscription fees and efficiency gains in the clinical trial result in an excellent return on investment for our clients.
